My start in production taught me how to make money work harder on a shoot. This approach has fueled my career and guides everything I do. It’s also led to a string of successes over the last 20-plus years and substantial results for the agencies I’ve worked with and for my creative partners in production.
Consider me a creative partner who always has an idea to help you elevate your project while also serving as your dependable “fixer” from pre- through post-production.
For more than 20 years, I’ve led successful productions across commercials, documentary storytelling, and feature films nationwide. That includes running a visual effects studio in Los Angeles and a production company in the Midwest. I create teams by harnessing talent capable of achieving more, whether that’s pioneering unique, real-life storytelling for brands and agencies, traditional marketing spots, no-budget music videos, corporate videos or massive, Hollywood box-office successes.
Recently, I’ve held long-tenured stints as a producer and executive producer for Chicago-based Cramer-Krasselt as well as Bader Rutter, the No. 1 B2B agency in America. I’ve also led production for indie agency stalwart Laughlin Constable. At every stop, I built the production department with top, award-winning talent and guided the work through internal post-production and production resources to serve those agency networks.
Earlier in my career I was an executive producer at Purple Onion, a company making broadcast commercials and content for clients including Ford, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, ESPN, Turner Classic Movies, MTV, IFC, The Sundance Channel, and Bravo. I’ve also been at the leading edge of documentary storytelling for brands and agencies as an executive producer at About Face Media.
I also developed my early career while living in Los Angeles and working across several creative film disciplines, including running Ring of Fire VFX as their head of operations. I built the internal Ring of Fire staff and client services and managed a pipeline of freelancers and VFX staff artists working on national spots, feature films, episodic TV, and everything in between. This work appeared in front of the biggest audiences that can be found in television and film, from Super Bowl broadcasts to HBO, your favorite sitcoms, Hollywood blockbusters at multiplexes nationwide, and more.
As an independent filmmaker, my work has appeared in festivals worldwide, including Sundance, SXSW, and DOC NYC, with distribution deals for broadcast and streaming coming from those productions. In 2014, my ESPN Films 30 for 30 doc about the MECCA Floor won an Emmy for Outstanding Short-Format Nonfiction Program. Additionally, I worked with the Sony Imageworks team on Spider-Man 2 (2004) which won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
I love that film production is a collaborative art and am driven by bringing ideas to life and seeing what we can create together to take an idea as far as it can go.
